President Akufo-Addo congratulates FC Samartex on their historic GPL win, urging them to excel in the CAF Champions League. He motivates the players to make Ghana proud, saying they should “lift Ghana’s flag high” as they embark on this prestigious journey.
The President calls their participation a “national assignment” during their courtesy call at the Jubilee House, emphasizing the significance of their representation.
Samartex’s GPL title win was a remarkable achievement, securing 61 points from 34 games and defeating top clubs like Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
As they prepare to face Victoria United in the Champions League preliminary round on August 16, a win would secure their spot in the group stages – a challenging task for the debutants.
The President promises financial support, asking the players to demonstrate determination and resilience. Mr. Nsenkyire, CEO of FC Samartex, thanks the President, saying financial support will help the team go far in the Champions League.
