Mr. Leo Skarlatos, CEO of mobile telecommunication firm AT, urged girls to prioritize education in technology and ICT to enable them to meet the current needs of the labor market.
He made this statement while hosting 100 Junior High School students from the Savannah, Northern, and Eastern regions, who were part of the Girls-in-ICT initiative.
The students participated in various activities, including digitalization, networking, data analytics, and cybersecurity, under the theme “Leadership,” which aimed to cultivate future female leaders in technology.
Mr. Skarlatos stressed the need to address the gender gap in the digital landscape and provide equal opportunities for all to thrive in today’s fast-paced digital world. He emphasized that bridging this gap is crucial in today’s rapidly evolving digital world.
“The Girls in ICT project is designed to inspire and equip young women with the skills and confidence needed to pursue careers in technology.
“By fostering an inclusive environment and offering mentorship, training, and resources, we aim to break down barriers and create a more diverse and innovative ICT sector,” he said.
Mr. Leo Skarlatos reaffirmed the company’s dedication to supporting and empowering young women in the ICT sector through its ongoing partnership with the Girls-in-ICT program.

Madam Evelyn Sam, Chief Supply Chain Officer at AT, shared her inspiring personal story, emphasizing that perseverance and a love for learning helped her overcome challenges and reach her objectives. She advised the young women to take ICT courses seriously, as they would provide the essential skills for future success.
She also reassured them of AT’s commitment to offering opportunities and support to help them gain the necessary knowledge and skills to thrive in the ICT industry.
