Onua TV host Captain Smart, has strongly condemned the behavior of Ghanaian broadcasters, accusing them of perpetuating corruption and compromising their integrity for financial gain.
Speaking on his maakye show,he specifically mentioned that broadcasters were paid GHS 20,000 each for attending Dr Bawumia’s media engagement on Sunday August 25 at Kempinski Hotel, implying that this is a form of bribery.
He challenged his fellow presenters to contradict him, stating that he is willing to confront their “stupidity” and “corrupt attitude”.
Captain Smart’s comments suggest that he believes Ghanaian broadcasters have a critical role to play in fighting corruption, but instead, they are contributing to the problem.
“Ghanaian broadcasters, you are ruining the nation. In any corrupt society, the only institution capable of fighting corruption is broadcasting and journalism.
But instead, you sit at Kempinski and in just three to four hours, you’ve pocketed GHS 20,000 each.
I’m speaking out, and I want all the presenters to challenge me. I’m ready to confront your stupidity, your nonsense, and your corrupt behavior,” he said.
