The Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amid prepares to present the mid-year budget review. Citizens across the country are sharing their hopes and concerns about the state of the nation’s economy.
In interviews with ordinary Ghanaians, some expressed optimism that the review would bring positive changes, while others were skeptical about the government’s ability to address the country’s economic woes.
“I’m hoping for a reduction in petroleum prices and a focus on creating jobs for young people,” said Akua Boahen, a small business owner in Accra. “I can’t even go to my hometown because of transportation fares”
Some citizens, like Adwoa Addo, a student in Cape Coast, were more concerned about the impact of the economy on their daily lives. “I just want government to put in place policies to address unemployment in the country.”
As the country waits with bated breath for the Finance Minister’s presentation, one thing is clear: Ghanaians are eager for a budget that reflects their needs and priorities.
The mid-year budget review is expected to be presented in Parliament in the coming days, and Ghanaians will be watching closely for signs of hope and change.
