The Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam will deliver the 2024 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament, today July 23, 2024, providing an update on the country’s economic performance and outlining any necessary adjustments to the budget.
The presentation seeks to inform Parliament about the progress made in executing the 2024 Budget, while also outlining revised fiscal strategies and a refreshed economic forecast for Ghana, to ensure the country stays on track with its financial objectives.
On Monday, July 22, the Ministry announced that the upcoming review will offer a mid-year assessment of the 2024 budget’s implementation, featuring an analysis of Ghana’s economic and fiscal trends for the first six months of the year.
The review will also provide a comprehensive update on key economic indicators, including GDP growth, revenue collection, spending patterns, funding strategies, and the country’s ability to manage its debt burden.
Additionally, the Minister will brief Parliament on the progress made in implementing the Post-COVID-19 Programme for Economic Growth (PC-PEG), a US$3 billion initiative backed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), aimed at revitalizing Ghana’s economy
This will mark Dr. Amin Adam’s first appearance before Parliament as Finance Minister, a requirement mandated by Section 28 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), since taking office in February 2024, where he will present the mid-year budget review.
