The Black Stars technical team, including head coach John Paintsil, Otto Addo, and Fatawu Dadua, was involved in a car accident on the Tarkwa-Takoradi road.
The team was returning to Accra after attending the Champions of Champions match between Premier League winner Samartex and Nsoatreman FC on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
According to a video shared on social media, none of the team members sustained serious injuries, although John Paintsil reported some pain in various parts of his body.
The Otto Addo-led team is set to receive medical attention before resuming preparations for Ghana’s AFCON qualifiers against Angola. The team’s safety and well-being are of utmost importance, and it’s a relief that no one was seriously hurt.
The Black Stars are scheduled to host Angola in Kumasi on September 5, 2024, before traveling to Niger on September 9. The team will now focus on their recovery and preparations for the upcoming matches.
Despite the accident, the team’s spirits remain high, and they are eager to get back to training and competing at their best.
