Founder and Leader of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM),Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, has pledged to combat corruption vigorously upon assuming the presidency of Ghana. In a recent statement, Rev. Andrews underscored the necessity for politicians to be transparent regarding their wealth.
According to Rev. Andrews, politicians will be required to provide proof of the source of their wealth upon his assumption of office.
“It is essential that politicians account to the people regarding the source of their wealth, beyond their legitimate earnings for serving the country,” he said.
Rev. Andrews believes that this measure will help curb corruption and ensure that politicians prioritize the needs of the people over personal gain. He argued that the current system enables politicians to accumulate wealth without accountability, leading to corruption and mismanagement of public resources.
In addition to tackling corruption, Rev. Andrews also announced plans to focus on the ceramic manufacturing industry upon becoming President. He believes that this industry has the potential to create jobs and stimulate economic growth.
“I will focus on the ceramic manufacturing industry when I become President,” he stated.
The Ghana Union Movement (GUM) has been gaining momentum in recent months, with many Ghanaians expressing support for Rev. Andrews’ vision for the country.
The GUM achieved a notable third-place finish in the 2020 presidential election, surpassing traditional parties such as the Convention People’s Party, People’s National Convention, and the Progressive People’s Party.
