The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ready to launch its national campaign in Tamale, with thousands of supporters already gathered in the city.
Former President John Dramani Mahama, his running mate Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, and other party leaders will address the launch, unveiling the party’s policy direction for the upcoming elections.
According to Northern Regional Communications Officer, Mr. Sulemana Mohammed, the party has made comprehensive preparations for a successful and accident-free launch. “We’ve begun community-to-community educational campaigns to inform members and potential supporters about the launch.
Arrangements for grounds, media stands, podiums, security, publicity, and accommodation are all in place,” he said.Mr. Mohammed confirmed that some national executive members, including Professor Joshua Alabi, National Campaign Director of Mr. John Dramani Mahama, have already arrived in Tamale. Party sympathizers are still arriving, with more expected to come later.
The launch aims to clarify the party’s controversial 24-hour economy policy, which has faced criticism. The NDC seeks to regain lost ground in the Northern region, where it has seen a decline in numbers in recent elections. With hotels, guest houses, and eateries filled to capacity, the launch is expected to be a massive show of force for the NDC.
The city is electric, with supporters proudly displaying party colors and symbols. This launch will be a defining moment for the party’s campaign, setting the tone for the elections ahead.
