Ghana’s Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, has stressed the importance of prioritizing the integrity of the league and grassroots football development alongside infrastructure improvements.
Speaking at the 30th Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) held at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram, the minister emphasized that infrastructure alone cannot propel the league to success.
“Inasmuch as government is improving infrastructure, there is the need to look at the integrity of the league,” he said.
“Not only can infrastructure develop the league but also the integrity and development of grassroots football,” he added
The minister’s remarks come as the GFA continues to work towards restoring the reputation of Ghanaian football, which has faced challenges in recent years.
The emphasis on integrity and grassroots development is seen as a crucial step towards creating a strong foundation for the sport in the country.
The GFA Congress, which brought together stakeholders from across the football community, provided a platform for discussions on key issues affecting the sport.
